Travelling with children

A relaxed start - even with a child on board. Good preparation makes many things easier. Anyone travelling with children benefits from short distances and family-friendly offers at Stuttgart Airport. Here are some tips for a relaxed journey with children - from check-in to departure

Pushchairs and car seats

Pushchairs, buggies and car seats are usually checked in as bulky baggage after check-in. The airline decides whether a car seat may be used on the aircraft - information can be obtained directly from the airline.

Good to know: The screening devices at the security checkpoint are designed for items up to 60 x 40 centimetres in size.

Rental buggies

At the bulky baggage counter in Terminal 3 on the departures level, you can exchange your own buggy or pushchair for a loan buggy. This can be taken to the gate and will be collected by the staff there.

What else is important

Nutrition

Baby food: Edeka and the Budni drugstore in Terminal 3 on the arrivals level have a larger selection of baby food for all parents who still need "supplies".

Good to know: The Federal Police provide information on the rules for carrying baby food (for children up to 24 months) and medicine in hand luggage.

Nursing care

Baby changing rooms: There are almost 20 baby changing rooms in the public area and in the gate area. These are ideal for caring for your child while travelling. Bottle warmers are also available in some rooms.

Care products: Forgot baby powder or not enough nappies? The Budni drugstore in Terminal 3 on the arrivals level stocks a well-stocked selection of drugstore products for babies and children.

Health centre

Pharmacy: The Aeroatoll pharmacy in Terminal 2 on the Departures level offers medication and personalised advice.

Medical service: If you have any medical questions, you can contact the team at the Airport Medical Centre in Terminal West - also on the departures level.
